Trade Winds is Born: 1st Expedition in November — New Orleans & Carribean

On September 15th, the Trade Winds Kickstarter campaign reached its fundraising goal to bring the first tour to New Orleans and Carribean to fruition. Trade Winds is a series of improvised music collaborations that travel along the historic trade routes, exploring the history and evolution of music. Matt and filmmaker Laura Newman will travel deep into the heart of coastal cities along the triangle trade route of West Africa, East Coast of Brazil, Caribbean and the US to film collaborations with musicians, capture their story and seek to reveal a musical thread with common roots of rhythm and musical language.  The Trade Winds Team is currently looking for musicians in New Orleans, Cuba, Jamaica and Dominican Republic to collaborate with.
